Finding the right photographer for your family can be a challenge. There are so many talented Augusta-based photographers out there, each with a different approach and style. Photography is an art, after all!
My style is typically referred to as “lifestyle photography.”
Lifestyle family photography is all about authentically capturing everyday moments in the most artistic way possible. Unlike documentary photography, lifestyle photography involves some prompts and guidance to capture authentic moments, but it's not as heavily staged or posed as traditional portrait photography. My sessions take place outdoors or in the comfort of your home, with a focus on emotion-filled images that reflect what truly matters to your family.
My main goal for your session is to get beautiful photos of your family snuggling, laughing, playing, and being their most genuine selves together.
So, what can you expect to see in your family gallery after a lifestyle session with me?
NATURAL, EXPRESSIVE CHILD PORTRAITS
When I photograph your littles, I want to catch them being their true selves. I also strive for each family photoshoot to feel fun and stress free. Normally, at some point during the session, with all the fun, there are smiles—but I’m not going to force a smile out of your child. Reserved, introverted and shy little ones are equally important and deserve for their innermost personality to shine through.
I’m much more likely to snap a quick shot of them laughing at something funny their sibling is up to. Or, I may just catch the timid, bashful, or even mischievous little expression that is one hundred percent them. Either way, they will have an opportunity to let their personality shine through in a way that will always bring you right back to this season of life.
CUDDLED-UP FAMILY SHOTS
These snuggly, connection-focused images are all about the special kind of love you have for one another. Prompted but not posed, these moments might include group hugs on a blanket, a kid sandwich with lots of kisses, or any other arrangement of your family happily close together.
IMAGES OF SIBLINGS (AND PETS!) DOING THEIR THING
Your children and pets are experts at playing and just being together. After a little loosening up, they’ll be naturally inclined to chase one another, and get a little goofy. Let them! These are the moments you will long to remember, and my job is to document them beautifully.
CANDID, ACTIVE FAMILY SHOTS
Some of the photographs you’ll see in your gallery will be true candid’s, and some will be prompted shots based on what I discover about you through your pre-session questionnaire and on the day.
PARENT-CHILD PAIRINGS
Parent-child shots have a special place in my heart.
As moms, we are so often the ones taking the photos and left outside the frame. This is your chance to remember that you were there too. Plus, you’ll see—through my lens—how your children look at you.
We’ll get all of the combinations of parent-child pairings throughout the session. I love seeing how each relationship is a little different. Some kids really bury their faces into their parents. Others are gentler huggers. No matter what, these moments are pure love and a total joy to share with you as part of your gallery.
